OXNARD, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say the deaths of a Ventura County couple found dead at their home in a quiet neighborhood of Oxnard is being investigated as murder-suicide.

Oxnard police said Monday that it appears 47-year-old Saul Lemus shot his wife, 35-year-old Sinia Lemus, and then turned the gun on himself.

The Ventura County Star reports (https://bit.ly/1ZZxlYZ) the couple had two daughters, ages 18 and 12.

Police say one of the daughters found the bodies Saturday afternoon.

The newspaper cites court records that show Sinia Lemus had filed for divorce on April 28. Police confirmed the filing, but didn’t immediately say if the pending divorce played a role in the double shooting.
