STUTTGART, Germany (AP) - Stuttgart has fired sporting director Robin Dutt and appointed Jos Luhukay as coach to replace Juergen Kramny, who was sacked following the club’s Bundesliga relegation.

Stuttgart, which is looking for a new president following Bernd Wahler’s resignation on Sunday, says on Tuesday that former German football federation sporting director Dutt is being let go after “intensive talks” between both parties.

Club chairman Martin Schaefer says it’s the “right decision to allow the necessary new start for Stuttgart.”

Dutt previously coached Freiburg, Bayer Leverkusen, and Werder Bremen.

Luhukay has agreed on a two-year contract to take over from Kramny, who was told on Sunday his contract ended with Saturday’s final 3-1 defeat at Wolfsburg.

The 52-year-old Luhukay previously led Borussia Moenchengladbach (2008), Augsburg (2011), and Hertha Berlin (2013) to promotion from the German second division.
