RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) - Authorities in Riverside County say a man and a woman have been caught for the second time this year with a carload of evidence suggesting mail and identity theft.

Sheriff’s officials said Monday that 25-year-old Jacob Bertino and 29-year-old Ashley Lawrence were arrested last week in Temecula. Deputies questioned Bertino and after learning he was out on parole, they searched his car. Sgt. Chris Gaskins says deputies discovered stolen mail, credit cards, drivers’ licenses and methamphetamine.

Bertino and Lawrence could face charges including committing a felony while on bail, possessing stolen property and identity theft. It wasn’t immediately known if they have lawyers.

The Press-Enterprise reports (https://bit.ly/1ThXC0C ) the pair was arrested in February near Corona. On that occasion, investigators said, their vehicle contained stolen credit cards, social security cards and altered checks.
