SULPHUR, La. (AP) - Calcasieu Parish authorities say a 17-year-old has been arrested in a stabbing that left one man dead and his wife in serious condition.
Sheriff Tony Mancuso tells the American Press (https://bit.ly/1eOXZNb) Antonio Smith of Sulphur faces several charges including second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, armed robbery and aggravated burglary.
Mancuso says Smith is accused of breaking into the home of 69-year-old Robert Anderson and his 57-year-old wife, Rita, Monday afternoon.
The sheriff says the stabbing occurred when the Andersons returned home and surprised Smith.
Mancuso says Smith was arrested a short time later after he was involved in an accident driving Anderson’s truck.
He says the Andersons knew Smith.
Online jail records do not list an attorney for Smith.
