HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) - Authorities have arrested an 18-year-old woman accused of fatally stabbing another teenager at a home where they both lived in Washington County.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Bob Ray says a Beaverton police dog helped sheriff’s deputies find the suspect - Tannekqwa Thompson - hiding in a yard late Monday.

The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Charreen Stanford. She was taken to the hospital by a relative and pronounced dead Monday night.

The circumstances that led to the stabbing were not immediately released and it was unknown if Thompson has an attorney.

She was being held without bail on a murder charge.
