KATY, Texas (AP) - A Texas woman hopes to find the original owner of a bracelet engraved with the name of her son, an Army veteran who was killed in Iraq, after it turned up hundreds of miles away in Minnesota.

Barbara Rozier of Katy told TV station KTRK (https://abc13.co/1OFv5p5 ) this week that she received a package from a Minnesota woman with the commemorative cuff that also had her son’s rank, hometown and the date he was killed etched onto it.

First Lt. Jonathan Rozier died in 2003 when his unit was attacked in Baghdad.

Along with the bracelet was a letter that said the St. Paul woman had found it in a strawberry patch in her backyard.

Rozier says her family has never been to St. Paul and doesn’t know anyone there. They are hoping to connect with the owner.
