CANTON, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agents and Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers have been searching Canton Lake in northwestern Oklahoma for evidence in the 2015 shooting death of an Oklahoma City area woman.

Investigators were searching the lake near Canton on Wednesday for evidence in the shooting death of 18-year-old Caylee Massey. It was not immediately revealed whether any evidence in the case was found.

Authorities have said Massey was traveling with a man as they drove from Oklahoma City to Canton last October when she was shot by a hitchhiker the two had picked up along the way.

Investigators have identified the suspect as 23-year-old Christopher Blake Scruggs of Guthrie.

Court records show Scruggs was charged in February with first-degree murder in the case, but he has not been arrested.
