BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Gov. John Bel Edwards has ordered the flags of the United States and the State of Louisiana to be flown at half-staff over the State Capitol and all public buildings until sunset on Thursday in honor of former Lt. Gov. Robert L. “Bobby” Freeman.

Freeman, of Plaquemine, died late Sunday after suffering from an inoperable aneurysm. He was 82.

Edwards, in a statement Wednesday, said Freeman understood the full meaning of public service having served in all three branches of state government.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
