BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Fire investigators are looking into what caused a vacant home to go up in flames in a Buffalo neighborhood where the blaze spread to four other houses.

The fire was reported around 3:15 a.m. Wednesday on Buffalo east side. Officials say the blaze started in a vacant home on Clark Street and quickly spread to four nearby homes.

About a dozen people have been displaced by the fire.

Fire Commissioner Garnell Whitfield says the close proximity of the homes made it difficult to fight the fire.

No injuries have been reported.

Officials say since it started in a vacant home, the cause of the fire is being ruled suspicious.
