GRETNA, La. (AP) - A Jefferson Parish jury has convicted 45-year-old Alejandro Bravo, formerly of Metairie, of sexual battery of a 7-year-old girl. The jury returned the guilty verdict on Tuesday.

Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office said the victim, now 10, testified that Bravo inappropriately touched and hurt her on three different occasions.

NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune reports (https://bit.ly/1Nyaxyu) the victim disclosed the abuse in 2013 to a juvenile crimes detective as well as a physician at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans. Bravo had moved to Minnesota by then and was extradited to Jefferson Parish in May 2015.

State District Judge Lee Faulkner is scheduled to sentence Bravo on May 26. Bravo faces a prison term of 25 to 99 years.
