COLUMBIA, Md. (AP) - Police in Maryland are charging a Washington man they say shot a car.
Howard County Police announced in a release Tuesday that 34-year-old Leon Von Woods is being charged with attempted murder, assault and firearms violations after the incident in Columbia on Monday. Police say a motorist reported that a car pulled up next to his and a man shot his door. The driver wasn’t injured.
Police say Woods was arrested in Harford County and deputies thought he matched the shooting suspect’s description.
Media outlets report that Harford County Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Cristie Kahler says Woods was arrested by deputies responding to reports of an armed man in the road near Aberdeen Proving Ground’s Edgewood area gate. She says a gun was found nearby.
Woods is being held without bond.
