GONZALES, La. (AP) - Louisiana State Police have arrested 25-year-old St. James man in the hit-and-run death of a Harvey woman whose body was found in an Interstate 10 median Monday.
Trooper Bryan Lee said in news release Brodnick Whittington was arrested Tuesday in the death of 35-year-old Jenise Williams
Lee says troopers had responded Saturday night to a single-vehicle crash site involving a pickup on I-10.
He says the driver was gone, but troopers determined the pickup had been moved from its original crash site.
Lee says troopers found that Whittington was the driver and called him, asking that he return to the scene and he refused.
Whittington faces charges of felony hit-and-run, obstruction of justice, driving under suspension and open container.
Online jail records do not list an attorney for him.
