CENTEREACH, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a Long Island man has died after a fire tore through his home in Centereach.

The blaze broke out shortly before 3 p.m. Wednesday at a home in Centereach.

Suffolk County police say firefighters found 50-year-old Timothy Oskey unresponsive on the floor in the basement of the home on Minerva Lane.

Emergency crews brought Oskey to a local hospital, where he died.

Police say they do not believe there was any foul play in Oskey’s death. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
