CONWAY, N.H. (AP) - State and local police are investigating a serious assault at a nearly 70-year-old inn in Conway that left a 64-year-old New Hampshire man fighting for his life.

Attorney General Joseph Foster’s Office says David “Bruce” Goodwin was found suffering from life-threatening injuries on Sunday at the Conway Valley Inn off state Route 16. The Conway man was hospitalized, but his condition is unknown as of Tuesday.

Little information is known about the assault, which authorities say occurred around 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

The inn remains an active crime scene. Police have blocked off parts of the property and surrounding woods with crime tape. Officials say a Chrysler and a Cadillac, both with New Hampshire license plates, were towed from the area.

No word on whether police have identified any suspects.
