MILLIKEN, Colo. (AP) - Police in the northern Colorado town of Milliken say they shot a man accused of shooting his wife in the leg during an argument.
Both the man and the woman were taken to the hospital Wednesday morning. Their conditions have not been released.
Police say that when officers arrived at the home in the town of about 6,000 people near Greeley, they learned the woman had been shot and her husband was firing his gun randomly inside. Greeley police say officers confronted and shot 28-year-old Andrew Gerold.
Milliken called in police from nearby communities for help before the shooting, which is being investigated by law enforcement agencies from around Weld County.
It’s unclear if Gerold has hired an attorney.
