ROSSVILLE, Md. (AP) - Authorities say a Baltimore County hospital worker was shot as she walked to a bus stop near the hospital, and a suspect identified as her ex-boyfriend shot and wounded himself as police tried to arrest him.

Spokesman Cpl. Shawn Vinson said by phone Wednesday that the woman was found shot multiple times late Tuesday near MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center.

Hospital spokeswoman Debra Schindler says the woman works at the hospital. Schindler says the woman was in critical but stable condition when she was transferred to another hospital.

Police spokesman Cpl. John Wachter said in a news release that officers obtained an arrest warrant charging 29-year-old Erwin Acree of Baltimore with attempted murder. Wachter said when police found Acree, he shot himself and was taken to a hospital.
