BRADLEY, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas authorities say an Oklahoma man who was shot and killed while trying to break into a home in Miller County is believed to have killed a woman about three hours earlier in neighboring Lafayette County.
Authorities say 47-year-old Craig Allen Smith of Del City, Oklahoma, was shot to death March 5 outside a house near Fouke. A man staying at his mother’s house said he shot Smith after hearing someone beating on a glass door in an apparent attempt to break into the home.
The Texarkana Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1YCVJza ) that Lafayette County Sheriff Obie Sims said Tuesday that DNA found in the home of 63-year-old homicide victim Virginia Paulette Seeger in Bradley matches Smith.
Sims says Seeger’s slaying is considered solved.
