SKOWHEGAN, Maine (AP) - Maine State Police investigators are continuing to probe an accident that caused a tractor-trailer hauling a windmill base to overturn on U.S. Route 201 earlier this week.

Sgt. Matt Casavant says troopers were escorting the truck from Maine’s border with Quebec to the site of a wind project in Bingham when the driver lost control on a turn in Johnson Mountain Township around 9 a.m. Monday.

The truck, owned by Quebec-based Transport Tricam, and the windmill base slid off the road and wiped out a power pole before coming to rest. No injuries were reported.

State police expect the load to remain on the side of Route 201 until equipment can be brought in to remove it.

Casavant says the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
