ATLANTA (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a Florida woman is accused of illegally administering silicone injections that led to a woman’s death in November.

Prosecutors say 46-year-old Deanna Roberts of Sanford, Florida was arrested Wednesday and made her first appearance in court in Orlando.

Authorities say Roberts falsely claimed to be a licensed medical practitioner and illegally transported gallons of liquid silicone from Florida to Atlanta for clandestine cosmetic procedures between 2004 and December.

Prosecutors say Roberts falsely swore that she did not intend to inject the federally regulated material into humans, but injected it into customers’ buttocks, lips and elsewhere.

Authorities say Roberts injected liquid silicone directly into a woman’s buttocks and she later died.

Messages to the attorney listed for Roberts weren’t immediately returned.
