ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A 46-year-old Anchorage woman was arrested Thursday on suspicion of felony domestic violence assault after a standoff at a home that lasted more than five hours.

Police just before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday took a call that a woman was brandishing a gun and threatening to shoot a man at a home on Rosemary Street in east Anchorage.

The man safely left the home and officers unsuccessfully tried to contact the woman.

Police say she had access to other guns in the house and that she was reported to be intoxicated.

The police SWAT team set up around the home and evacuated other homes nearby.

Police just before 1 a.m. entered the home and arrested the woman.
