HOUSTON (AP) - The body of a 79-year-old man has been found on a lower level outside Houston City Hall and police say the death appears to be from a fall.

Police did not immediately release the name of the man, whose body was discovered Wednesday.

Authorities say contract workers at Houston City Hall were checking a ground lighting and drainage concrete trench along the side of the building. Workers found a body on the concrete floor, which is about 13 feet below the top of a wall and ledge around the municipal building.

Houston police say it appears the man fell. Investigators are trying to determine what time the incident happened.
