Brooklyn woman found dead on bench with throat slashed

NEW YORK (AP) - Police are investigating the death of a 51-year-old woman who was found sitting on a bench with her throat slashed.

Police say Sharon Whigham, of Brooklyn, was pronounced dead at the scene on West 9th Street in Red Hook just after 4:30 a.m. Thursday.

There have been no arrests.
