ST. GEORGE, S.C. (AP) - A former St. George Police officer is accused of asking for and receiving sexually explicit photos from a minor.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division said Wednesday that 34-year-old Shaun Michael Dumont has been charged with public official misconduct in office. The state Attorney General’s Office says Dumont is also charged with second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

An arrest warrant says that on May 11, while Dumont was on duty, he asked a minor to send him sexually explicit photos on a messaging app and the minor complied.

The warrant also says Dumont took pictures of himself while in uniform and on duty and sent them to the minor.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Dumont has an attorney.
