BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Fire officials say two people were hospitalized following an early morning blaze at a multi-family home in Burlington that spurred a response from the Vermont city’s entire fire department.

The fire was reported around 4:20 a.m. Wednesday at a home on Hyde Street that contained two apartments. Firefighters arrived at the scene to find the structure fully engulfed.

Six people were displaced by the blaze. Two residents suffered minor injuries and were taken to UVM Medical Center for treatment.

Fire Marshal Barry Simays says the cause of the fire is currently unknown. Fire officials must wait until the charred home is stabilized before investigating.

New Hampshire/Vermont American Red Cross officials say its volunteers are on-scene assisting the displaced residents.

A total of 60 firefighters helped knock down the blaze.
