ATLANTA (AP) - State labor officials say Georgia’s jobless rate is holding steady at 5.5 percent.

The Georgia Department of Labor on Thursday said that the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in April was 5.5 percent. That is unchanged from March.

The rate was 6.1 percent a year ago.

Officials said all 14 metropolitan areas in the state added jobs, as Georgia gained 10,600 jobs for a total of 4.37 million in April.
