CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) - A July trial has been scheduled for a woman accused of misappropriating money while serving as postmaster in Nora Springs.

Mason City television station KIMT reports (https://bit.ly/252BpLA ) that DeAnn Lewman pleaded not guilty Wednesday to two counts of misappropriation of postal funds and 42 counts of false entries. Her trial is set to begin July 18 in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids.

Prosecutors say that between May 2014 and January 2015, Lewman took nearly $3,000 in cash and stamps and took nearly $3,100 that was meant to buy Postal Service money orders in December 2014 and January 2015.
