INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The Indiana Supreme Court’s Disciplinary Commission has recommended former Marion County Prosecutor Carl Brizzi face discipline for misconduct while in office.

A complaint filed Monday says the Republican prosecutor from 2003 to 2010 participated in a questionable real estate deal and intervened in a criminal case involving the client of a friend and business partner. That man, former attorney and developer Paul Page, was convicted in 2013 on federal charges of wire fraud.

Former U.S. Attorney Joe Hogsett announced that same year there wasn’t enough evidence to file criminal charges against Brizzi.

Brizzi has denied doing anything wrong.

The Supreme Court will decide whether Brizzi faces sanctions that range from a private reprimand to being disbarred.

The court disciplined Brizzi in 2012 for making prejudicial comments against several defendants.
