CANEADEA, N.Y. (AP) - State police say a 39-year-old northern Pennsylvania man has died in a one-car crash on a rural road in New York’s Southern Tier.
Troopers say a 19-year-old woman from Belfast in Allegany County was driving on Route 17 in the neighboring town of Caneadea (kan-ee-ah-DEE’-ah) around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday when the vehicle drifted off the road, hit a guardrail and traveled along an embankment before colliding with a tree.
The woman and two passengers, both of them 19-year-old men from Belfast, all suffered minor injuries and were treated at a hospital.
Troopers say a third passenger, Anthony Logue of Shinglehouse in Potter County, Pennsylvania, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the cause of the accident is under investigation.
