MILLBROOK, Ala. (AP) - Authorities are investigating what they believe was an apparent attempted murder-suicide involving a Millbrook couple.
Media outlets report the incident happened Thursday morning. Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson says officers responded at a home, where they found a woman with gunshot wounds to her upper torso.
Johnson says the woman, who was alert, told police that she went to her neighbor’s house for help after being shot at home by her husband.
The woman was taken to a hospital, where she was in stable condition.
Johnson says officers who entered the home found the man dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Officials haven’t released the identities of the man and woman. Johnson says both individuals were in their late 70s.
