SUMRALL, Miss. (AP) - A woman’s body, found in a carport, has been identified.

The Hattiesburg American (https://hatne.ws/1OQaMFI ) reports Lamar County Coroner Cody Creel said 44-year-old Kimberly Raynes, of Sumrall, was found dead Wednesday outside a residence in Sumrall.

The homeowner arrived at the house around 5 p.m. to find the woman’s body in the carport.

Assistant Police Chief Tony Kepper says the woman was not a resident at the home where she was discovered.

The cause of Raynes’ death has not yet been determined and the investigation is ongoing.

Her body has been sent to the state crime lab in Jackson for an autopsy.
