NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) - The Latest on the deaths of two men, including one who was shot by police, after a fight at a North Las Vegas casino (all times local):

5:40 p.m.

Police say a third employee was injured in a scuffle with a man who then allegedly killed a co-worker before he was shot and killed by police at a North Las Vegas casino.

Officer Ann Cavaricci (kah-vah-REE’-chee) said patrol officers tried to use a stun gun to stop the rampaging 30-year-old employee before an officer shot him a little after 5:45 a.m. Thursday police inside the Silver Nugget casino.

Cavaricci says the man who was shot and killed was described as having “an agitated chaotic episode” when he killed a 64-year-old co-worker.

The age of the third injured employee wasn’t immediately made public. Cavaricci says his injuries weren’t life-threatening.

Police haven’t said whether the fights involved weapons, or if the man who was shot by police was armed.

Cavaricci says the police shooting happened in an employee storeroom area not visible to casino patrons.

She says the casino has reopened for business.

Police say both a man killed in a pre-dawn fight in an employee area at a North Las Vegas casino and another man shot and killed by police responding to the brawl worked at the gambling hall.

Officer Ann Cavaricci (kah-vah-REE’-chee) didn’t immediately name the two men who died early Thursday in the fight and officer shooting at the Silver Nugget.

She says the casino remains closed while investigators interview witnesses and piece together what happened.

Cavaricci hasn’t said whether the fight involved weapons, or if the man who was shot was armed.

She says there was what she called a violent interaction between the man and officers before he was shot.

Cavaricci says the fight and police shooting happened in an area not visible to casino patrons.

Police say a second man has been found dead in an employee area at a North Las Vegas casino after a pre-dawn fight with a man who was shot and killed by police.

Officer Ann Cavaricci (kah-vah-REE’-chee) says a patrol officer responding to a report of two men brawling at the Silver Nugget shot the man’s assailant near a storeroom where the fatal fight took place.

Cavaricci hasn’t said whether the fight involved weapons, or if the man who was shot was armed.

She says it appears that just the two men were involved in the initial fight.

Cavaricci says the fight and police shooting happened in an area not visible to casino patrons.

The man who was shot was pronounced dead at University Medical Center in Las Vegas.

8:05 a.m.

Police in North Las Vegas say a man is dead after a shooting involving police officers at a casino.

Officer Ann Cavaricci (kah-vah-REE’-chee) says the shooting happened about 5:45 a.m. Thursday at the Silver Nugget.

She says the man was taken to University Medical Center in Las Vegas, where he was pronounced dead. He wasn’t immediately identified.

Cavaricci says no officers were injured.

There was no immediate word whether the man had a gun, or what led to the gunfire.

Investigators are at the casino on North Las Vegas Boulevard, where Cavaricci says they’re still piecing together what happened.

The Silver Nugget is an old-style locals’ casino, built in 1964. It has a bowling alley, bar, restaurant and a modest-sized banquet room.
