UNDERWOOD, N.D. (AP) - Construction is getting underway on a $2.1 million school expansion in Underwood.

Officials broke ground for the project on Wednesday. The 6,000-square-foot expansion will include a new main entrance, a commons area and administrative offices.

Superintendent Brandt Dick says the project is scheduled to be finished by the end of the year.

About $55,000 of the project cost is being funded through a state oil impact grant.
