BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A 20-year-old Baton Rouge man has been arrested on a charge of second-degree murder after officials say he gave another man synthetic marijuana that caused a fatal overdose.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office says O.J. Bonds traded a cigar with the synthetic to a man and woman for regular cigarettes on Aug. 31 at a motel.

The Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/1Z1Cuzn) that as the two victims overdosed from the drug, Bonds walked into their motel room and stole a backpack and a cellphone.

Deputies found Bonds at a nearby motel where they found a package of “Super Magic” Mojo in his possession, according to the report.

Paramedics rushed the victims to a hospital, the report says, but the man died.

Bonds remains jailed with bail set at $200,000.
