BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Police in Birmingham are investigating the shooting death of a man found dead in the living room of his home after he answered a knock at his door.

Police said 55-year-old Ronald Brown was home with his wife and son when the shooting happened around 9:30 Saturday on Lake Lane.

Brown’s wife told investigators that her husband went to answer the door after someone knocked, and then she heard a gunshot. She told police she then found her husband on the floor.

Police said in a statement that they do not believe the shooting was random, and that the shooter was looking for someone in the home. No arrests had been made by late Sunday.
