DENHAM SPRINGS, La. (AP) - The Louisiana State Police says emergency crews have rescued a person trapped in a car following a single-vehicle crash in Denham Springs.

Local news outlets report that emergency crews spent more than four hours getting the person out of the car.

The incident occurred Sunday afternoon on Highway 1024. Trooper 1st Class Bryan Lee says the first occupant was taken to a hospital shortly after the accident. The second person remained trapped inside the vehicle until crews were able to pull him out around 8:30 p.m.

Lee says the two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
