PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Gas prices are up an average of seven cents per gallon in Rhode Island.

AAA Northeast says its weekly survey released on Monday found the average price of self-serve, regular gas was $2.22 per gallon, up from $2.15 last week. It’s the highest price since the fall.

AAA says the national average also stands at $2.22 per gallon.

Prices are still significantly lower than at this time last year, when the average price of gas in Rhode Island was 38 cents higher, at $2.60 per gallon.
