LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a 61-year-old hunter was shot in the arm with a crossbow after a fellow hunter apparently mistook him for a turkey in southern Michigan.

The Jackson County sheriff’s department says the man was shot early Sunday in the left arm while hunting on private land in Liberty Township. The Jackson Citizen Patriot reports (https://bit.ly/1SFXYkP ) he was taken to a hospital and was expected to survive.

The sheriff’s department says the 51-year-old Jackson man who shot him is expected to face charges.
