VENTURA, Iowa (AP) - A northern Iowa woman accused of stealing from a breast cancer charity group has pleaded not guilty.
Online court records say 51-year-old Leanne Hicks, of Ventura, entered the plea as she waived her preliminary hearing. The records don’t list a trial date on the charges of theft and ongoing criminal conduct.
Authorities say Hicks stole nearly $3,500 from Buddies for Boobies during the 19 months she served as the nonprofit group’s president. Hicks has said she didn’t take the money.
