BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - Officials in Rosebud County have released the name of a 69-year-old man who was killed in a weekend crash near Lame Deer.

Coroner Allen Fulton tells The Billings Gazette (https://bit.ly/21qIYtq ) that Hershel Tate of Lame Deer died at the scene of the crash on Highway 4 near Lame Deer. Fulton says Tate was originally from Kansas, but had lived in Lame Deer for the past several years.

The Montana Highway Patrol says Tate was northbound when he entered a curve and lost control of his Cadillac. The vehicle crossed the center and southbound lanes before sliding off the edge of the road and rolling down an embankment. The car was found on its side in a pasture.

Tate was thrown from the vehicle.
