GRAHAM, Wash. (AP) - Fire officials say a 63-year-old man died in a house fire in the Pierce County town of Graham.

Graham Fire & Rescue spokesman Steve Richards says a medical condition may have prevented the man from escaping the one-story house when the fire broke out around 11:15 a.m. Monday.

The News Tribune reports (https://goo.gl/lnjaF0 ) the fire marshal determined the man was smoking in bed, which caused the blaze.

Two other family members woke to smoke alarms and got out safely. They suffered minor injuries, including smoke inhalation.

Firefighters found the man’s body inside the home.
