GLOUCESTER CITY, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a man walked into the Gloucester City Police Department parking lot and smashed a Molotov cocktail on the side of a police vehicle.
Officials say 28-year-old Jose Rodriguez told officers he threw the incendiary device on Saturday night because he wanted to go to jail.
Rodriguez is held on $100,000 bail, charged with aggravated arson, criminal mischief and weapon counts. It’s not known if he has a lawyer who can comment on the charges.
Police extinguished the fire and the patrol vehicle sustained minor damage.
