SPRING VALLEY, Ohio (AP) - Authorities say a forensic anthropologist will examine skeletal remains found by mushroom hunters in southwest Ohio.

Greene County Sheriff Gene Fischer tells the Dayton Daily News (https://bit.ly/1rqDfHt ) the group had been in a wooded Spring Valley Township area late Sunday afternoon about 15 miles southeast of Dayton when they found the bones.

Authorities say the remains were about 50 feet from the roadway.

Sgt. Beth Prall says the bones will be examined to see if they’re human, what gender they belong to and how long they’d been there.
