SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - Authorities say a police officer responding to a domestic violence call shot a man outside a motel in Spokane.
Spokane police said in a news release someone called 911 several times Monday afternoon about an assault between roommates. A caller said the suspect had returned to the scene armed and was threatening to kill him.
When officers arrived, they say a man told them he had a gun. Police say shortly after that, one officer fired a weapon, striking the man.
The man was taken into custody, given medical aid and transported to an area hospital. Police say a firearm was found near the man.
Police say police were wearing body cameras and that footage will be reviewed by investigators.
No other details were immediately available.
This is the third time in five days that someone has been shot by Spokane police officers.
