CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - Authorities say officers have been involved in a shootout after responding to a report of a possible suicidal person near Gillette.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1SWT2dj ) that no injuries were reported in the Sunday incident along Wyoming State Highway 59.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says troopers and a Campbell County sheriff’s deputy had responded to the scene early Sunday and were shot at by a suspect, who has not yet been identified.

Authorities say a highway patrol car was struck by the gunfire and a trooper fired back.

The suspect eventually surrendered and was taken into custody.

The incident remains under investigation.
