Toddler dies after being hit by truck in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a toddler has died after being struck by a box truck in the parking lot of a Sacramento apartment complex.

The 2-year-old boy was hit by the truck on Sunday and taken to a hospital where he later died.

Witnesses told KCRA-TV (https://bit.ly/1UrmIP6) that the boy had run out into the parking lot to retrieve a ball he had dropped when he was hit by the vehicle.

The incident remains under investigation.
