WESTMINSTER, Colo. (AP) - A Westminster man who told investigators his wife killed herself has been arrested on a charge of first-degree murder.
Police say 38-year-old Gary Nickal called 911 Thursday to report that his wife, 35-year-old Molly Nickal, had shot herself in the bathroom. But officers say they immediately noticed the physical evidence did not match the story the man was telling them.
Investigators say the couple’s three young children were in the home at the time of the shooting but were not hurt.
Nickal was arrested Friday and is being held at the Jefferson County jail. Booking documents do not indicate if he has hired an attorney.
