WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) - Two men killed in a shooting in Williston came to the western North Dakota oil patch hub from Ohio.

Police tell KXMC-TV that 24-year-old Diandre Lott and 23-year-old Donzell Washington are from Cleveland, though they were residents of Williston when they died.

Lott and Washington were found dead of multiple gunshot wounds in an apartment complex on Tuesday. Police detained a man and a woman who lived in the apartment for questioning but then released them.

No charges have been filed or suspects named, and details remain scarce.

Police say they found three guns at the scene and believe as many as 16 shots were fired. They tell the Williston Herald that self-defense has not been ruled out in the shooting.
