PHOENIX (AP) - A Camp Verde man was sentenced to 2 ½ years in federal prison for his guilty plea to sexually abusing a woman at a party.

Court records show 22-year-old Alexander David Wathogoma had previously pleaded guilty in the January 2015 assault on the Yavapai-Apache Nation.

He acknowledged during his plea hearing that he sexually abused the woman as she was sleeping and incapable of declining his actions.

The abuse was stopped by a friend of the victim.
