DALLAS (AP) - As Dallas County District Attorney Susan Hawk continues to battle depression, she has returned to the Houston psychiatric hospital where she was treated last year.
On Friday afternoon, her office said in a statement that she was continuing to battle depression and noted that “relapse is common.” In a second statement issued later Friday, the office said Hawk had “voluntarily sought treatment” at the Menninger Clinic.
She spent two months last year at the same hospital being treated for depression, anxiety and attention deficit disorders.
The first statement came hours after she missed an event at the Dallas Public Library where she was set to talk about her recovery.
The first statement said Hawk was “taking the necessary steps so that she can continue to serve the community.”
