SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Caddo Parish sheriff’s deputies are investigating the crash of a stolen 18-wheeler.

Sgt. Mike Vaitkus said in a news release the tractor-trailer was taken from a truck stop in Texarkana, Arkansas, around 4:30 a.m. Friday.

Vaitkus says patrol deputies found the vehicle overturned on the side of Interstate 49 in the northern part of the parish around 5:30 a.m.

He says the 18-wheeler carrying two AT&T work trucks struck the center rail as it passed over Louisiana Highway 2. He says the vehicle ran off the highway, rolled down an embankment and overturned.

Deputies are still searching for the truck’s driver
